Ordination and Assignment

Dr. Mapangdol was ordained to the Diaconate on December 28, 1995 at the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Philippines (EDNP). She transferred her canonical residence in 1997 to the Episcopal Diocese of Central Philippines (EDCP) and was ordained to the Priesthood on January 21, 2004.


Her assignments at EDCP include: St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church, Antipolo, Rizal (Deacon, 1997-2001); Holy Faith Episcopal Church, Cainta, Rizal (Deacon, 2001-2004); St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Novaliches, Quezon City (Priest-in-Charge, 2004-2005 and 2010-2011); and the National Cathedral of St. Mary and St. John (Assisting Priest; 2012-present).

Education

Dr. Mapangdol completed her basic education at the Aguid Elementary School in 1983 and her secondary education in 1987 at the Bangaan National High School in Banga-an, Sagada, Mountain Province. She graduated with the degree of Bachelor in Elementary Education at the Mountain Province College (now MPSPC) in Bontoc, Mountain Province in 1991. In the same year, she entered St. Andrew’s Theological Seminary and graduated in 1994 with the degree of Master in Divinity.

She was assigned as a graduate intern at the Faith and Order Unit of the National Council of Churches in the Philippines by her Diocesan Bishop, the late Rt. Rev. Robert O. Longid, from 1994-1995. From 1995-1997, she worked as a Christian Education Teacher at the Elementary department of the Trinity College of Quezon City (now TUA). In June 1997, she was invited by The Very Rev. Edward P. Malecdan (SATS Dean at that time), to join the faculty of St. Andrew’s Theological Seminary. She had been a statutory faculty since 1997.

 

While teaching at SATS, she went for further studies and graduated in 2002 with the degree of Master of Arts, Major in Theological Studies at the Maryhill School of Theology in Quezon City. In 2005, under the faculty development program of SATS, she pursued her doctoral studies in Singapore. She returned to SATS and taught in June 2009, while waiting for her dissertation to be read and approved by readers. In 2010, she graduated with the degree of Doctor of Theology at the Trinity Theological College in Singapore. In June 10, 2016, she graduated with the Degree of Doctor in Education (Ed.D) at the Trinity University of Asia in Quezon City.


She taught courses on Christian Education (1997-2002) and Old & New Testament courses (2002-present).  She also served as the SATS Field Education Director from 2009-2014.

Dr. Mapangdol is a member of the following commissions/committees: International Commission on Anglican-Orthodox Theological Dialogue (Member, 2010-2015); Asian Theological Academy-ATA (Member since 2017; General Secretary, 2019- Present); Samahang Teolohikal na Edukasyon sa Pilipinas (Vice-President for Luzon, 2012-2014; 2014-present); EDCP Diocesan Council (Secretary, 2015-2019); and the EDCP Commission on Ministry (2018).
